Topic-icon How I Decided the Right Amount of References for My Dissertation

5 days 5 hours ago #4227 by Noahcarl
While working on my dissertation, I kept wondering  how many sources for a dissertation are actually enough. At first, I thought adding more references would make my work stronger, but it only made my writing confusing and harder to manage. Over time, I realized that the focus should be on quality rather than quantity. I started selecting sources that were directly relevant to my topic and supported my arguments clearly. This helped me stay focused and improve the overall structure of my work. From my experience, the right number of sources depends on the depth of your research and how effectively you use them.
