Topic-icon The role of CMOs in the bioreagents industry: what to consider when choosing

We’ve been debating in our team whether to bring in a contract manufacturer for scaling up some reagent production. The in-house setup works fine for small pilot batches, but once we tried ramping up, things started slipping with consistency. I’ve heard people say CMOs can solve those issues, but it also feels risky to hand over that much control. What would you check first when choosing a partner?

I’ve been through this a couple of times. One thing I learned the hard way is that not every CMO has equal experience with complex reagents. Some are amazing at bulk production but weaker in maintaining assay reproducibility. When we looked for partners, transparency in their QC processes was a big deal. Also, checking platforms like https://gentaur.co.uk/ gave us a sense of which companies had strong reputations across different product types. It saved us a lot of back and forth.

I’ve seen colleagues run into delays when legal teams underestimated how long it takes to negotiate clear agreements with manufacturing partners. Even when the science is solid and production lines are ready, unclear expectations on delivery schedules, batch ownership, or IP rights can stall projects for months. That side of the process is just as important as technical capabilities.

Sometimes I just want something new to play in the evenings. While searching, I found spin mama , and I’ve been playing there often now. It’s simple, with nice graphics and plenty of slots. The promotions are generous — you get bonus money, spins, and even loyalty rewards. The thing I liked most is how everything works without issues, making it perfect for quick, fun sessions.
