Topic-icon Resin bound paving vs regular paving - which is better for patios?

2 weeks 2 days ago #4029 by Assrem
I'm planning a patio makeover this spring. I'm torn between traditional paving stones and resin bound paving. Has anyone compared the two for a patio specifically? What are the main differences in terms of lifespan, maintenance, and cost? Our patio gets a lot of sun and rain, so weather resistance is important. I also want something that looks nice and will add value to the house. I am curious if anyone has insights into the pros and cons of each before I commit to one.

It is interesting how much the material choices can influence the overall feel of an outdoor space. The texture, color, and even the way it feels underfoot all play a part in creating the kind of atmosphere you want. And of course, there's the practical side too – how well it holds up over time, how easy it is to clean, and how it blends with the surrounding landscape.

For a patio, I ultimately chose resin bound paving and I love it! One thing that made my decision easier was considering that it's permeable, so no more puddles! It also creates a really smooth, modern look. You can actually explore some Resin Bound Driveway Diy Kits to get an idea of pricing and color options. I found some helpful info on The Resin Bonded Slab Company website; they explain the benefits pretty clearly. Regular paving stones might be cheaper initially, but resin bound can be less work over time.
