Hello all,
I'm hoping to start some off site sales away from Trysordy. We cover three counties and are very aware that a number of our members find it difficult to get to us.

I've identified some specific cluster locations of members and have a few ideas about how to make this as efficient and effective as possible.

I know some of you do this already, can you share some good ideas/ tips and let me know pitfalls etc. Practical advice etc gratefully received.

Look forward to hearing from you x

Hi, we have started outreach in Gloucester and i have found that public places are best like supermarket car parks or town car parks. Both the supermarkets and the council have been generous in giving us space. Also worth finding cluster groups for schools or out of school clubs, then you get a lot of people in one place.

Time of day is important as well we do from 3 till 6pm, but will change this to 2.30 till 5.30 as nursery and after school clubs start work at 3. Teresa.

In Bradford we have 5 mobile shops once a month which are in childrens cnetres. Our funding to provide these specified that they were in childrens centres.
They work well as we make sure the shop is open at the busiest time at the centre.
For us as we are funded the mobile shops are more about getting out to the community and hard to reach families rather than making a big profit.
In no way do we take enough to be able to do it in this way without funding.
We have found that making up a range of themed packs with our scrap resources works really well for the mobile shop though. We have packs from 50p to £3. We will be bringing some to the conference so people can see them.

Thanks for this, hadn't thought of approaching supermarkets.
I've got a community centre and a school lined up so I'm going to use those as pilots and see what happens!
Thanks Again
Rosie

Hi Rosie, hope it goes well, we went to a couple of schools but found that other people didnt visit. Have foound public places much better, also because we now have family membership and so passers by can come and shop. Teresa.
