Topic-icon Ideas for Mum's 60th?

6 days 5 hours ago #7499 by Dont speak
Mum's turning 60 in a few weeks and I thought choosing a present would be easy until I actually sat down to do it. It's a proper milestone, so I want to get her something that feels a bit more memorable than the usual birthday stuff. She buys what she needs herself and never gives much away about what she'd like, which hasn't exactly helped. I'm completely stuck now. What would you get your mum for her 60th in the UK?

Mate, these birthdays are awkward because you know the present should feel special, but the obvious ideas all start sounding a bit flat once you picture handing them over. I'd go for something personal that pulls in a bit of family history, like a proper photo book with old pictures, holidays and a few stories from over the years. Photobox or Papier would be worth a look for that. You can make something that feels properly hers without having to guess what new gadget or accessory she might fancy.

You know what, for 60 I'd probably lean towards something she'll still have years from now. That gives the present a bit more weight, and it doesn't have to be flashy to feel like it was chosen for a proper milestone. I'd have a look at some jewellery and see what fits the sort of things she already wears. You can browse this fine jewellery shop here: pierrejewellery.uk/ . There are enough different styles there to pick something simple or a bit more noticeable. I'd match the metal and general look to pieces she already reaches for most often.
