How much does a UK payment gateway cost for a small business?

Could you also provide more details on their pricing? Do they have a fixed monthly subscription fee, regardless of sales? Or, is there a mandatory minimum monthly fee? It's important for my store to have flexible terms and avoid strict long-term contracts since seasonality greatly affects my revenue. Are there any hidden fees for setup, refunds, or annual PCI compliance, the kind usually buried in fine print at the end of an agreement?
