Hello!
Claire from Scrap magic Bradford here.
In April i went to Germany with work for a study tour. We were mainly looking at playwork and play but i managed to squeeze in 2 scrapstores in the week aswell. The only 2 scrapstores in Germany!
I am planning on writing up on the scrapstores more when i get around to it so there will be pictures and thoughts to follow.

A first thing i wanted to share is the scrapstore in Berlin, Kunst Stoffe is Having an international scrapstore event. The email from them is below with all the information i have.
If anyone wants to get involved you can email me (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or Corrnia in Berlin(This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
Scrap Magic has decided not to do a live stream as we arent open on saturdays and my technical skills with videoing may be exceeded!
I hope theres some scrapstores out there who can get involved :)

Live Stream 'From Waste to Resource. Recovering Sustainable Attitudes'

Kunst-Stoffe is organising a multi media event in the context of the international project 'From Waste to Ressource', produced by Drap Art Inc., Spain.

The event is scheduled for Saturday June 23, late afternoon (mid European time).
It will be presented in the context of Water Tower Art Fest in Sofia / Bulgaria.

The event: The main ideas is to create a live stream with Reuse centres / Scrap stores from all over the world in order to make the idea more widely known and show the variety, beauty, inspiration each center represents. In order to experience the live stream in a stimulating environment, we will create a cosy media lounge with an adjacent outdoor upcycling playground, offering the general audience of all ages opportunities for live participation in creative upcycling activities.

The intention: Outside of anglo-american countries, the concept still is farely unknown. Kunst-Stoffe is the first reuse center in Germany, and we know of hardly any in continental Europe, too. We believe that creative recycling, reuse, attentiveness for material resources and energy streams have gained importance and make the concept of a reuse center even more significant. With the event, we want to present the concept in its variations, introduce it to an interested public, and initiate discourse on how to more widely make it practically relevant. In addition, the event may contribute to facilitating knowledge exchange between different centers.

Participation is open to any center at no cost.

All that is needed is: fast internet, a webcam, a rough script of what you want to stream, a bit of time (there may be some inconvenience in timing due to time differences between continents) and commitment.

Next steps:
- It would be great if you could send a rough script of what you want to show ( your store, customers shopping (if it is open on saturday), staff taking about their work, artists using scrap materials, people young and old taking part in a workshop, scrap material being picked up…)
- Try to limit your presentation to 30 min
- It may be helpful to have a test run of your presentation. For the technical end, we will schedule a test run at your convenience
- Please suggest a time slot which will be suitable for you, considering time difference. We will then try to make a schedule considering everybody's preference
- Let us know who will be our contact person
- Please provide some general information on your center for public relation, along with one picture and your logo

We look forward to creating this event with you, to bring out the beauty and significance of Reuse centers / Scrap stores from all over the world!!

Best regards, Corinna Vosse
