SIC 2007 Code for Scrapstores

This might be useful if you're ever asked for your SIC Code.

We just had to enter our SIC Code (Standard Industry Classification) on a waste transfer note for our local authority, and I had no idea what it was. The UK Standard Industrial Classification of Economic Activities 2007 runs to hundreds of activities, so I rang them up. They were really helpful, and after discussing what a Scrapstore is and does, suggested we use code 46770 Wholesale of Waste and Scrap. The people I rang are:

I am slowly building up the information I need to try and get a 'scrapstore' off the ground here in the Welsh Valley's....

I can't imagine that it won't be well received, as the Welsh are normally great at 'not' spending (thats what my partner tells me anyway!)

If any of you can pass some information my way that may be helpful for me to take to local community groups and council offices then I would be most grateful.
